Elko Spring Plant Sale Scheduled for Late April. Native and Adapted Plants Available to Encourage Conservation Efforts
Elko, NV --The Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) and Silver Sage FFA Chapter will host their annual Elko Spring Plant Sale, offering native and/or adapted plants grown at the State Nursery in Washoe Valley for purchase. Proceeds support FFA activities, events, and student trips.
“The plant sale provides native and/or adapted species, which are usually better able to withstand Nevada’s conditions. It has been a long-standing partnership with the Silver Sage FFA Chapter to encourage individual conservation efforts in our area,” says Andi Porreca, conservation staff specialist at the Nevada Division of Forestry.
Unlike other plant sales, this event requires pre-ordering and payment to ensure delivery. Order forms can be downloaded from the Nevada Division of Forestry website.
Completed forms and payment can be mailed or dropped off at NDF’s Elko office, located at 911 Falcon Ln, Elko NV, 89801 by April 16 to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment. Checks are payable to Spring Creek Highschool.
Customers can pick up their plants at the welding building behind Spring Creek High School, Wednesday April 22 and 23, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
