On July 26, 2022, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack launched a new $1 billion Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) program. This new, five-year, competitive program funded by President Biden’s historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is designed to assist at-risk communities, including Tribal communities, non-profit organizations, state forestry agencies and Alaska Native corporations with planning for and mitigating wildfire risks.

There will be a series of webinars August 4th, 8th and 9th to provide potential applicants with an overview of the grant program.

For more information or to register for one of the upcoming webinars, go to the Wildland Fire Learning Portal and search “CWDG” under > Find Learning > Courses.
