Nevada Division of Forestry Announces 2025 Youth Range Camp Scholarship Winners
The Nevada Division of Forestry is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Youth Range Camp Scholarship contest, recognizing eight outstanding students with a passion for natural resource stewardship. This year’s scholarship winners include:
- Two students from Churchill County High School, Fallon, NV
- One student from Alpine Academy, Sparks, NV
- Two students from First Christian Academy, High Springs, FL
- One student from Spring Creek High School, Spring Creek, NV
- One student from Oasis Academy, Fallon, NV
- One student from Carson High School, Carson City, NV
The scholarships cover the registration fee to attend the Nevada Youth Range Camp, a weeklong immersive learning experience held each summer in eastern Nevada. A tradition since 1961, the camp introduces high school students to the science and art of rangeland and natural resource management. Participants explore topics such as wildland fire ecology, plant identification, soil science, watershed health, and wildlife habitat, while also gaining exposure to career paths in conservation and land management.
The Range Camp is hosted by the Nevada Section of the Society for Range Management in partnership with the Nevada Division of Forestry, Nevada State Parks, Bureau of Land Management, USDA Forest Service, and other state, federal, and nonprofit land management agencies.
The Nevada Division of Forestry congratulates these exceptional students and looks forward to their continued contributions to the stewardship of Nevada’s landscapes.
