2025 Nevada Youth Range Camp
We want to connect students with their natural environment. In a cooperative effort, Nevada Division of Forestry, the Society of Range Management, and their many partners host an annual range camp for high school age (15-18 years old) for kids to become immersed in a living laboratory. Camp is held Northeast of McGill, Nevada at the Berry Creek Forest Service Administrative Site. In a safe and fun learning environment for over 60 years, Range Camp provides students an opportunity to learn various land management practices and the role that they, as upcoming professionals, can play in the protection and restoration of Nevada's range lands. Students will learn practical means of measuring and assessing natural resource features for quality as well as learning to identify different native plant and animals that live in Nevada all while having fun through games and interacting with their peers from different high schools and working professionals while tent camping. To register for the camp, please visit the Range Camp Registration Page. For any questions, please reach out to the Camp Manager, Ethan Mower, via emower@parks.nv.gov
We want to help students attend. Nevada Division of Forestry wants as many students to get the opportunity to go. To help offset the camp registration fees, Nevada Division of Forestry hosts a scholarship essay competition. The winners of the scholarship essay will receive $250 towards the camp registration fee and a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Nevada State Forester Kasey KC.
