NEVADA DIVISION OF FORESTRY TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON EXPANDING ACCESS TO CONSERVATION PLANTS FOR ALL NEVADA LANDOWNERS
The Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) invites the public to a public hearing on Thursday, May 23, to discuss expanding access to conservation plants for all Nevada landowners.
Current policy, guided by NRS 528.105, mandates using plant materials from NDF for specific conservation purposes like erosion control, windbreaks, and water conservation. Additionally, NAC 528.110 sets criteria for private landowners to buy these materials, requiring at least one acre of land outside city limits. The proposed changes would repeal current eligibility restrictions for private landowners. Relevant documents can be downloaded below.
To comment on NDF's proposed changes, attend the public hearing or email ndfinfo@forestry.nv.gov or mail to Nevada Division of Forestry, 901 S. Stewart Street Ste. 1001, Carson City, NV 89701 by May 23, 2024.
