Nevada Division of Forestry Seeks Input on Proposed Regulation Revisions, Workshop Scheduled for March 8
Carson City, NV – The Nevada Division of Forestry is seeking public feedback on the potential repeal of a regulation that currently guides the Division's ability to sell plants and plant materials to private property owners in Nevada. The workshop is scheduled for March 8, 2024.
The existing regulation, NAC 528.110, outlines two requirements for property owners to purchase plants, seedlings, shrubs, and other plant materials for conservation purposes:
- The land where the plants are to be planted must consist of a parcel containing 1 acre or more. Alternatively, it can be 2 or more contiguous parcels owned by different owners, totaling 1 acre or more.
- The land must be entirely outside the city limits of any incorporated city in the state. However, in Carson City, the land must be outside the designated urban area.
The Nevada Division of Forestry's proposed repeal is in response to Governor Lombardo's executive order, which mandates a comprehensive review of all regulations enforceable by executive branch departments and agencies. The goal is to create a more transparent and efficient regulatory environment.
