Grant Pre-proposal period now open

The Nevada Division of Forestry is now accepting preliminary proposals for the following competitive grants addressing wildfire prevention and mitigation, as well as habitat restoration in Nevada:

  • Hazardous Fuels-Community Protection (HF-CP) Grants: These grant funds support hazardous fuels reduction projects and restoration of fire-adapted ecosystems. Projects must be located on private property that is adjacent to US Forest Service lands. Please submit your pre-proposal by January 17, 2023, at 5:00 pm.
  • Western State Fire Managers (WSFM) Grants: These grants will provide funds to mitigate wildfire risks within the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), with emphasis on hazardous fuels reduction, community outreach, wildfire risk assessment, planning, and monitoring. Please submit your pre-proposal by March 1, 2023, at 5:00 pm.
  • Landscape Scale Restoration (LSR) Grants: These grants provide funding for restoration projects that improve or rehabilitate rural forests and rangelands, water resources, riparian areas, and wildlife habitat. Please submit your pre-proposal by March 1, 2023, at 5:00 pm.
