The Forest Legacy Program does a competitive ranking on potential projects. Nevada is allowed to submit 3 projects for each federal fiscal year. The next project consideration is for Federal Fiscal Year 2014.

Approximate time line for all projects for consideration for Federal Fiscal Year 2014

March 2012 – all project proposals submitted to Nevada Division of Forestry

April 2012 All projects ranked by the State Forest Stewardship Committee

Summer 2012- Project ranking announced and data is gathered and entered into the U.S. Forest Service- Forest Legacy Database

November 2012- All states projects proposals are gathered for regional ranking

December 2012- Projects from the western states are ranked regionally

January 2013- Projects are ranked nationally

Once the list for rankings of projects and the budget for the Forest Legacy program announced in the Federal Budget then the number of projects that can be funded will be known.
