Forest Health Grant Funding- Forest Landowner Application
Grant Funding is available to assist victims of Forest Insects and Disease.
Are you a victim of Insects and Disease on your Nevada Forest ? Below are the areas that were affected in 2011:

Map showing affected areas in Nevada
Some of the hardest hit areas were in the pinyon forests of the Pinenut and Sweetwater Mountains, the central and eastern Nevada mountain ranges and the Jarbidge mountains in NE NV.
Funding is given to Nevada Division of Forestry from the United States Forest Service to provide technical assistance and to help Nevada forest landowners improve the health of their forests on the ground.
This funding is currently available from NDF to Nevada forest landowners with 5 acres or more or of native trees to thin the stands, spray high value trees to kill the insects or prevent them from attacking the trees, apply pheromones (bug scents) and to repel bark beetles, etc. The funding is granted to private forest landowners using “reimbursable sub-grants” on a 50:50 basis. To understand the tax consequences of this funding see the following FS Tax Tip document http://www.fs.fed.us/spf/coop/library/taxtips2011.pdf
To apply for this reimbursable cost-share funding fill out this Grant Application Form (PDF). You can email the form to receive forest health assistance from the State Forest Health Specialist free of charge or you can mail in your application for a Subgrant.
