The Nevada Shade Tree Council (NSTC) in cooperation with the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF), the USDA Forest Service, and the Southern Nevada Arborist Group (SNAG) is sponsoring an Arborist Training Series designed to help prepare those interested in taking the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist Examination.

The series is in three 8-hour sessions, February 28- March 1, 2012, at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway (Green Valley Parkway & Paseo Verde Parkway), Henderson, Nevada.   The $95.00 registration fee and form are due to NSTC no later than February 17, 2012. Agency Purchase Orders are accepted, but payment must be made in advance of the training series.

An ISA Certified Arborist Examination will be conducted the morning of March 2, 2012 (optional), at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Offices (UNCE), 8050 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fee to take the ISA Certified Arborist Examination is $250.00. The fee and application must be submitted directly to the ISA. Applicants must have three years of related employment and/or education.

Applications to take the examination are available on the Internet at www.isa-arbor.com. Examination application and fee must be submitted to the ISA no later than February 17, 2012.
